PAXTON — After working as a licensed home day care provider for seven years, Liz Mullett saw firsthand the need in the Paxton community for expanded child care options. Her home was full of kids, and she was not alone, either, as other local day care providers were in the same situation.
Meanwhile, parents like Jonas Hoedebecke, who had to travel elsewhere to find child care services, were admittedly becoming frustrated. While living in Urbana and working as an administrator for Accolade Health Care at its nursing home on East Pells Street in Paxton, Hoedebecke would travel to near Rankin to drop off his children in home day care there every weekday morning, then drive back there to pick them up each afternoon. That eventually stopped, however, after he moved to Paxton and met Mullett, who became his kids’ new day care provider.
