Kathy Finkenbinder had to experience many changes in the nursing home business at the facility on South Mill Street in her 36 years in the business. Now, the business will have to manage without her.

Finkenbinder retired recently from Accolade Healthcare after a career that spanned five different ownerships and many different changes in the business.

“I never, ever considered it a job,” Finkenbinder told the Daily Leader recently. “It was my passion. It’s what brought joy to me, it’s what helped me be the person I am. I have learned so much from the residents and their families — the stories, the lessons, the love, the show of appreciation. It makes me very emotional just to sit there and think about it.”
